This I Believe

I do not have many strict beliefs because each of my parents grew up in a different religion. I have never had any beliefs forced on me letting me think about things in my own way. I do believe that I can fight for what I think is right and that I can do something worth doing. I am constantly questioning what I think and other people’s beliefs as well. I have never tried to change someone’s beliefs and never will.

I believe in what I think is best for now and for the future, I do not think about what my beliefs of what others think in the past are. I believe that I can think about any situation with any perspective and still be respective of what other people’s beliefs are. I have never had my beliefs truly shaken because I don’t have set beliefs. I do often rethink many things in my beliefs when I speak to other not religious or more religious people. I often rethink my beliefs when I speak to my father about things like this because he is a very scientific man. He thinks about many things with a scientific point of view and can answer questions I have with a very different more educated answer than I could think of.

I do have some slightly more strict beliefs about the way I think things should be done and the way people should act about each other. I do believe that someone should be judged by what they have done in the past and what type of person they can be in good moments and in bad. I also believe that one person should be treated like they have the same chance at success as any other person. Any person is as good as another until proven to be better or worse. I have seen people be mean and judgmental to others without having even met them or giving them a chance to be good. I believe that some of the best people can be some of the people who start off looking the worst.

The day I was first judged without even meeting people I can’t remember. This is because I probably did not even hear the person speak and might not even have been old enough to remember. I can’t tell you how many times I have been unfairly judged but I wish I could. If I could know how many times I have been I have been unfairly judged I would try to stop people from judging others that many times or I might try to prove all of them wrong just to prove that you can’t judge someone without knowing them. I believe that people are all good until proven otherwise.

  2. Interesting and diverse ideas, Mason. Thanks!

3/5 points. You have a lot of ideas here. It is unclear to me what your actual belief statement is. You ramble a bit, including everything from religion to science to judging people. If I were to summarize your main idea, I couldn't. You need to focus your thoughts and share them in a logical, concise and organized manner. You need transition sentences, a strong lead, and a solid conclusion. Next time, jot down a short outline to focus your writing.
